caos 2 install crc error

I am receiving a crc error system error when trying to install caos2 for i386 on a p4 machine.

I first tried typing install and one where i simply just pressed enter at the first install prompt but both times receive this error. What does CRC error mean and how can I by-pass this..

cheers

Typically the CRC error (Cyclic Redundancy Check) has to do with block devices (eg. Floppy, CDROM, or hard drive) errors. I would guess that there is a hardware problem with either the floppy or CDROM device. Can you try anohter system, remove the floppy, or try anohter CDROM?

What was installed on this system before, and did you have any other problems with this system?

Good luck!
