Upgrade?

Greetings;
I have looked all over this community and found 3 answers to the four questions I had. Pretty good, really. BUT...an old machine I was retro for just the smallest of tasks couldn't handle Mint and such, so I went with a Bodhi 3.* disk I had in my files. Is there a way to shift it to 5 directly or need I get up in the middle of the night and d/l the newer version? Oh. I have satellite that throttles my bandwidth except between 0100 and 0400 nightly.

you have to do a clean install. just like debian and some others. point upgrades are automatic. but 3 to 4 to 5 is clean install.
