You need to start by describing how you are connected now, and exactly what you mean by 'shareing access'. How many other devices? How are those devices going to connect to what ever system you have.

We can not see your system, and you have not provided any information.

More info

Hi,

The system is a laptop with Bodhi Linux which uses a paid VPN. The laptop is on Wifi, and I want to share that WIFI + VPN with a tablet to take advantage of the VPN.

Thank you,

BM

You haven't said, I'm guessing the connection from the tablet to your laptop is wifi? You also have a router your laptop connects to?

If this is correct, I would think you will need another wifi adapter to allow a connection from the tablet to your laptop. You would need to add the software to turn your laptop into a router. This is necessary to forward packets from the tablet, to the router to the internet.

I have never dealt with VPN connections, there are people here who have. Hopefully someone with some expertise with VPN's and routing can chime in and give you more useful direction.

Have you done any network searching for a How To? Might be a good place to start looking.

Bodhi uses nm-applet / gnome network manager by default. You should be able to use this to set up an adhoc network for other devices to connect to, but I am also fairly certain you will need a second wireless card to do so if your primary wireless card is connected to a router.

I bet what you want is possible with one wireless adapter, cuz I've done it under windows - from my RV to login to campground wifi with my laptop - I go thru the wifi login screen with browser, then open my vpn, then use the windows 10 built in hotspot thing and share the vpn'd connection. Then I can use my smart tv apps (netflix/etc) plus all my portable devices. And my kids laptop is set to use my phone's hotspot, so when my phone connects to my laptops hotspot, they end up connected too. That magic of technology.

I'm new to linux so never had a case to try it yet, but when you figure out jpw, post back, cuz I'll probably use it myself next time I travel.
