Setting two keyboard layout variants
Hi everyone,
I only recently changed to Bodhi Linux (5.0) and I can't figure out how to setup (permanently) two keyboard layouts (english programmer dvorak and russian typewriter) for my profile. The Enlightenment menu """ Menu -> Applications -> System Tools -> System Settings -> Keyboard Layout """ only lets me pick one layout, without being able to specify the layout variant, and for current session only. I also tried executing """ setxkbmap -layout "en,ru" -variant "dvp, typewriter" """ from shell, but this leads to "Error loading new keyboard description". (Even """setxkbmap -layout "en" """ leads to the same error.) I feel I'm missing something completely obvious, but what? |
Hello and welcome :)

Thank you very much! This functionality is exactly what I have been looking for. Seems a bit odd that such a thing is hard to find in the documentation.

Yes, I answer this question very often. We need to look at Bodhi wiki to make this topic easier to find for our users.
Anyway, I am glad it is working for you now :) Stefan |
