One Suggestion : Live Bodhi Linux

Hello ,
I like Bodhi Linux , esp. the Bodhi Gurus help me to make the Chinese Input work. Beautiful !

Just one suggestion :
"Live Bodhi Linux", if this is available now? if NOT, I suggest to make it. This can be very helpful to expand the User Base of Bodhi linux.

Just like "live Ubuntu",you can try-ubuntu-before-you-install.

1) For both new users and the users want to upgrade the OS,
can try it without any concerns that it will broke existing OS.

2) For NON-Bodhi users, one of best approach for them to switch to Bodhi Linux is let them try and experience it.

3)" Bodhi is built on top of the latest Ubuntu LTS release featuring the Moksha Desktop". If Ubuntu has LIVE UBUNTU ca·pa·bil·i·ty, I think Bodhi Linux maybe also can port this function.

"Running Ubuntu directly from either a USB stick or a DVD is a quick and easy way to experience how Ubuntu works for you, and how it works with your hardware. Most importantly, it doesn’t alter your computer’s configuration in any way, and a simple restart without the USB stick or DVD is all that’s needed to restore your machine to its previous state.

With a live Ubuntu, you can do almost anything you can from an installed Ubuntu:"

Not sure if I fully understand your suggestion

Of course Bodhi Linux has a live seesion possible to run. Always had this option and always will have. Almost all Linux distro has this possibilty to check the system before install.

Check out our last BL 5.1 RC version or wait for official release within a week or two.

Yes you can run it live :-) It's a selection on the boot menu.

When I checked this website:
https://www.slant.co/versus/4998/896...linux_vs_bodhi
comparing Puppy Linux vs Bodhi.

Under Puppy Linux : PROS
"PRO Designed to run as a live USB/CD
A portable version, that can be carried on a thumb drive without requiring installation, weighs less than 100MB; a Live CD - less than 150MB. You can even save your settings and files for Puppy on the external device/media.
Running off a live CD also has security benefits, as your system will reset to the known config after each boot."

The above contents are list under Puppy Linux , But Not under Bodhi Linux, given this is a side by side comparison ,
which imply this live USB/CD feature is not built in Bodhi Linux.while builtin Puppy Linux.

But Here,in this Forum chat, my understanding is Bodhi Linux already built in the feature.
so the statement on this website is wrong ? I miss some things ?

Weird, no professional review or comparison. No date, no author, no distro versions.

As I claimed before, Bodhi is fully possible to run as live seesion. No more discussion. Try it, if you do not believe

Thanks for the confirmation.
I trust you , You are the Bodhi Developer, you know the product completely.
Now I am at ease. :)
Too bad the slant.co provides the wrong information, scare away the users !
Bodhi Linux, great !

There is another claim on this website which is also in·ac·cu·rate.
"PRO It can be the only distro that works
Sometimes, Puppy Linux is the only distro that works on an old machine: all other distros are more demanding."
Bodhi liuux works on my old aged Dell Inspiron 1150 very well, and it is the only OS I tested so far to make
both Chinese input and wifi work.

It’s a comparison website and the comparison sounds quite old as it mentions choice of desktops which was in an earlier distro version. Seems a bit out of date. It is very positive about Bodhi and maybe doesn’t mention it can be fun live because it is a distro that can also be installed so it’s not a main usp. Whereas Puppy is intended to be run live and I believe not normally recommended for full install. I hate Puppy personally - did my head in.
