Not sure if this helps but can you see the temperature through ibar? if you do windows key + space bar for everything and type in the name of the app?

In the app center under Moksha modules there are you can download temperature such as weather, cpu usage, memory usage, etc.
When you install you will find it in settings> modules> it will be under Look tab. |
