Mouse-over focus delay does not work.
Issue Resolved!
On a new install of Bodhi 5.0 (stable), I am unable to get the delay on "focus on mouse-over" to work at all. A mouse-over event immediately raises and focuses the mouse on whatever window the mouse happened to cross. This makes having mouse-over a pain, when under normal circumstances it is what I want. (Yes, I hit the apply button each time I make a change in the control panel sub-windows) Is there another way to set this value other than with the GUI interface? Some value hidden away in the ~/.e folder or something like that? This is driving me nuts! |
what desktop are you using? if a fancy one that has the gui settings, and not a config file, look for something that says mouse and look for raise in x milliseconds. adjust accordingly.

Thanks for the response....
I am using the enlightenment desktop (moksha in Bodhi speak). Yes, I have been using the GUI control panel for adjusting settings. The 'windows->windows focus->miscellaneous(tab) sub-control panel offers up an option for 'raise windows on mouse over followed by a slider control which is supposed to set the 'delay before raising'. The units indicated are 'seconds' as compared to the milli-seconds you mention. The problem is that, apparently, the setting is not captured nor saved when applied. The result is that windows raise/focus immediately when the mouse touches them (no delay). Actually, none of the changes I make in the 'windows->windows focus' section seem to change regardless of what settings I might make. I think this section of the controls might be broken... |
try
settings->window focus -> advance -> pointer the only thing I can find so far is for stacking delay for raise window. I just installed it, and mine I have to click to raise with sloppy focus. |
Aha! Well done BW-userx! That did it! It was the 'raise' delay that needed to be set, not the delay on focus.
this fixed the problem and I am utterly grateful! Thank You! |
My pleasure, enjoy..
