I have updated Moksha 3.1 in Bodhi linux 5.0 repo. This update addresses a few issues:
  • A segfault issue with the Keyboard module in some cases
  • A minor security flaw in e_sys_main
  • A longstanding issue with our desktop file editor complaining about a permission problem in a few system folders
  • And Stefans fix for a systray issue with apps whose icons had transparent backgrounds
  • As wells as a few memory issues that came to light While I was examining another issue. That issue involved an efl bug which Raster fixed once I pointed the bug out. But in that research I found a few minor memory issues in moksha that I fixed.

I have also updated the version of moksha in our testing repo to incorporate these changes also.

Enjoy :)

I'm probably imagining it, but I feel like start menu navigation is more responsive with this version.

Anyway thanks for the hard work, I realize tracking down these minor issues is very time consuming, but I think worthwhile to give Bodhi more polished look with no (known) minor glitches.

Well there are a couple commits that address menu stuff but I never noticed any responsiveness changes but anyways ...

On minor glitches ... I know of more than I care to list here. Actually I do have a list which I share with Štefan but There are prob some I know about that I never put on that list. Maintaining all the lists and notes I keep ends up being rather time consuming :(

The goal of course is to fix all these glitches/issues/bugs. But as you note it takes us time and sometimes alot of time to address each one. So i prioritize things and if something takes to much time more on with plans to get back to it latter. And Štefan works on whatever has his interest at the moment.

I have yet again updated Moksha 3.1 in Bodhi linux 5.0 repos both testing and main.

This update is essential a feature request:

An ability to suppress the notification that one is in presentation mode has been added. If an environmental variable, MOKSHA_NO_NOTIFY, is set to any value then this notification that one is in presentation mode will not be displayed.

Two, the places module was changed to respect udisk presentation.hide being set by a udev rule on a volume and not display such volumes. I know that one is rather technical but it was brought to my attention in the Discord Channel that a user could not hide snap volumes from being displayed in the places module by using udev rules. I also noted that the e23 versions of the places module in e23 did respect such rules implicating to me that our version of the places module should also. I couldn't simply backport the e23 places module changes as it is using udisks2 and moksha is using udisks1 and there are some API changes. But I did backport the idea and added this feature to our places module.

THanks to Discord users enigma (enigma9o7 on forum here) and ryenigma for these ideas.
