Hi Bolla, and welcome to LQ.

Let's check the update situation first. Can you please paste the output from the following command:

Code:
sudo apt update

Ok, thanks, that looks good. You're all up to date. The next time your System Updater says that there are updates available, see if it works now.

Does the black screen happen while you're using the computer or does it only happen when you haven't touched it for a while?

Like it may be a screensaver or some form of energy saver that activates when the computer hasn't been used for a given period of time.

What version of Bodhi are you running?

https://www.linuxquestions.org/quest...er-4175638212/

It appears from this and another thread that there is a bug with the System Updater and you are recommended to use the command line to do any updates.

sorry have a dying dog and no sleep so i did not read the whole thread - scna mode. i said this in other threads. system updater has some glitch and has had it since 4.5 maybe - maybe 5???? anyway - it hangs becuse in the dist-upgrade from what i guess there is not way to eneter a y or n ----- we had many discussion on this in old and this forum. anyay you have to do it in terminal - do update first and then run dist-upgrade. i have seen a hang as in something is locked and cannot access it but you try it again and all works out. never had an issue this way.
