Is there currently something like Compiz for Bodhi available?

I've already read about Ecomorph, but the according How-to's are very old and probably won't work on 4.5.0 or 5.0.

Hello

If you need only a simple compositor the Compton is for you. See some topics on this forum which are related...

Compton is cross Distro application. install, then set up your config file for it, but look into the how to's prior to installing anything.

I especially like the desktop cube of Compiz and I think
Bodhi has so many great looking effects in its GUI,
that the cube would fit there very well, too, wouldn't it?
Just thinking...

The only question is, if it's possible, from the technical point of view, to add the cube into Bodhi.

I just tried compiz but it apperantly won't run, error about another window manager already running. I was curious if it worked better than compton, and what this cube you're referring to is.

I've previously tried both compton and xcompmgr. They both do the same thing as far as I can tell. The only reason I've tried them was to make conky transparent, for which they work. However both of them, on three computers, make my shelf clock appear inaccurate after resume from idle. So if you get them working right, or find another solution that does work, let me know, as I'd love transparency & an accurate clock at the same time...

The only way to get the cube in Bodhi is ecomorph. Compton works for transperancy, shadows, and screen tearing. It works fine in Bodhi 4. But I haven't got it to work in Bodhi 5.

edit: Compton hasn't effected my clock in Bodhi 4.

I think, trying to install Ecomorph doesn't make sense anyway, because all the How-to's I found on the web are from 2011,
which is definitely too old, so I guess, Ecomorph wouldn't work for 4.5.0 or 5.0 anyway.
