It is kind cordx, thx

There are also some apps helping with editing (poedit) but in general I was doing it by hand in geany text editor. And yes, it could be nice to help us with translations. By the way there are also extra modules which also needs some love These days Ylee is working hard on photo extra module. Some new text probably appeared in po files.

i had searched a couple times for the post Ylee made here about what to try and learn to help with bodhi, but couldn't find it. i don't have any actual programming/dev skills or experience beyond taking a quick look at c++ and ruby in the past, but feel like i am decently comfortable with linux in general and bodhi specifically so i could get the hang of helping out with some guidance.

in regards to the french .po file, what do i do with edits? so far i have just found one spot where E needs to be replaced with Moksha, but need to know how to get that and any others to where they need to go.

Just looked at fr.po file
fr.po: 1820 translated messages, 45 fuzzy translations, 216 untranslated messages.

Not bad shape as far as statistics is concerned. By all means need to be checked. In slovak.po was many many bs.

Let me refresh the po files for ylee repo branch. We (mainly Ylee) added tons of stuff for incoming Moksha release. I will inform you when I am ready...

OK

All po files updated. Now you can edit fr.po or fr_ch.po files or both. Happy translating

hello Stefan
i'm back at home and i have just changed language and it is ok, now most o the windows and texts are in french and the translation is rather good
thank you for the process !!
you told me that i could feel free to contribute and improve the french translation
i have not yet looked at many windows, i have just seen that at some places, the text is still in english or at other places, that the french word is perhaps not quite the right one...
i have not a lot of time and above all i am a complete beginner with linux...
i just say perhaps it could be possible for me, if at that moment i have a little time, that, when i'll see a piece of text which is still in english and if i am sure of the right translation in french i could give this translation...
in the same way if i see somewhere a french word of which i am sure it is not really the right one, i could tell the real french word which could replace the wrong one....
even if i have really very litlle time and if i will use this pc with bodhi not very often (i have put bodhi on this old computer to link it with my tv and read videos on tv..) i could however do that and give, from time to time, a right french translation of some words or titles, or windows (of course, only if i am completely sure of it)...
do you think it could be interesting and,if yes, how can i give these informations ? to you ? to somebody else ?

Hello

This process is really complicated. The good news is, cordx user is an another guy who would like to participate on French. There are many variables in this process. I coordinated only my work with slovak po file which has still some troubles. I need also someone with super great slovak knowledge. The issue of your both co-workers is that you jmmslbc are good at French and not too familiar with Bodhi. Cordx is an advanced user of Bodhi but with French basics. What now?
Maybe it could be great you both to be in contact and make some discussion about the translations. Maybe this could work fine. What do you think?

Stefan

i would be happy to help do what i can to get your translations to the right place. i created a temporary email where you can reach me: serovob@getnada.com (so neither of us has to post our personal email here). if you will put "linuxquestions" and your user name here in the subject line, i will know it is from you. i will reply with the same subject line from my personal email and then we can get started

hello Stefan hello Cordx

thank you for this good suggestion
i'll send you a mail to that address you created, (only in a few days because i am again not at home...) and i will give at the same time, the first french words i have seen yesterday and which are not necessary the right ones (i have not the computer with me where i am and i don't remember exactly what i saw...)

as i wrote to Stefan i have generally not much time and i am a complete beginner with linux (perhaps you don't remember but you helped me very kindly a few weeks ago when i installed linux for the first time (bodhi 3 on an old machine with problem with arandr when i connected it to the tv...)
and as i will use this computer especially to send videos on my tv i'll use bodhi not very often..

however you can be sure (Stefan and you) that each time i'll see something for which i am sure the french word is not the right one, i'll tell you via mail

so, sorry, for these reasons, it will be only from time to time and so, probably only a light contribution...

and as i wrote it also, i 'll do that only when i am completely sure that the translation is the right one...
what is difficult for me is often to understand the real meaning of english terms and also it is made harder because i am very far from being comfortable with linux technique (Stefan was kind to write that "i am not "too familiar" with linux", it is really much worse than that...)
back soon !

i remember helping with arandr i will do my best to help provide an understanding of the context in which your translation will be used with bodhi in case that might be helpful. i know i personally appreciate any effort you are willing and able to give to help others experience bodhi in their native language.
