How to switch from Bodhi 4 to Bodhi 5?

Greetings to everybody!

I've been using Bodhi 4 since 2017 and too lasy to check out the latest version.
But I guess I will have to jump to Bodhi 5 sooner or later.
My question is: What's the proper way to replace B4 with B5?
Do I have to simply install it over B4? Am I going to loose all my apps and
(non copied) documents from the B4 partition?

Hello there

Bodhi is a semi rolling release distribution based on Ubuntu. It means you need to reinstall the main releases. Backup your work and install from scratch. This is the best method to avoid troubles. Maybe some other user will reply also with their experience.

I think, he caught something different than you. Cuz when he said typo, at what I was guessing (and you later confirmed) was humour based on the date", I looked closer, he actually said it was 'god'!

I've heard someone call ubuntu Satan, but first time I heard Bodhi called God.

But just incase anyone is actually reading this and doesn't know, the date is cuz that's how long the unbuntu version it's based on is supposed to get official updates. You can in fact keep using it past that date in a frozen state, it's not like it'll suddenly stop working.
