How to safely integrate and use a Windows Emulator in Bodhi?
Hello folks,
I blew up my system more then once with Wine when trying to use it on Ubuntu Studio a while ago. Now, all new to Bodhi and anyway rather a Linux Newbie, I would like to make sure that WineHQ works well when I install or rather integrate it in Bodhi. I want to use windows software, e.g. my mouse configuration software that comes as an EXE File. There may be other programs to use. My system: hp elitebook, i5 2,3 Ghz, 256 GB HDD, 4 GB DDR3 Kind regards, Steffen |
You cannot integrate it, you just need to install it. But not all of the exe files work perfectly.

"Integration" was meant practically, not literally... :)
Nevertheless: Is it usually possible to simply install WineHQ and uninstall it without any hassle? In the past, I found it weird how Wine reacted in Ubuntu Studio, that it did not show a GUI as I would have expected it. So basically, WineHQ is all about enabling a running Linux OS to cope with EXE-files software-wise - given the fact that one had installed it properly? |
Wine is simple an executable and has no GUI. There are several GUIs out there that work with it but wine itself is cli only. WineHQ is a web site, not an app as far as I know.

Thanks!
