Display Resolution (BL 5.0)

Hi.

I've installed Bodhi linux to my old laptop with SIS GPU. I have a strange issue with display resolution. If I'm booting live distro native screen resolution is available (1024x768). In case of installed distro only 640x480 is available. This problem occurs at BL 5.0 and 4.x. In versions 3.x and older everything was OK. I've tried to add resolution manually but not successfully. Pls any help with adding 1024x768 resolution.

Installed distro:
Code:
usr1@Maxdata:~$ xrandr

xrandr: Failed to get size of gamma for output default
Screen 0: minimum 640 x 480, current 640 x 480, maximum 640 x 480
default connected 640x480+0+0 0mm x 0mm
   640x480 73.00*
Live distro:
Code:
bodhi@bodhi:~$ xrandr
xrandr: Failed to get size of gamma for output default
Screen 0: minimum 640 x 480, current 1024 x 768, maximum 1024 x 768
default connected 1024x768+0+0 0mm x 0mm
   1024x768 61.00*
   800x600 61.00
   640x480 60.00

check the video card/chip and drivers installed for it on both. Might be missing the dirvers in the install.

I found this : someone that had the same issue in bodhi

I checked. Drivers missing in both cases, but in "live" case it's not a problem for getting correct resolution.

Manual from link you gave me helped to get a correct resolution, but now render is so laggy and there're a lot of visual artifacts.

you're going to have to talk to the maintainer of this distro, why does it work on a live iso but not when installed. he does boop in from time to time.

I found the solution, that suits me. I understood that difference between live distro and installed was in fbdev settings. I found how to change fbdev settings and got a result. To set 1024x768 resolution for fbdev you need to add this string in grub settings:
Code:
GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT='quiet=1 panic=30 splash vga=0x318'
Hope it will help somebody.
