Crema theme

Hello there

There were some requests to the former E17 Crema or better coffee theme so I decided to fix this theme for BL 5.0. I did not know the theme is in very bad condition. There was no battery, launcher, clock, tasks and many many more widgets themed. Be aware this theme has no ELM part so, apps like epad, eepdate etc will fall to the default ELM theme if you dont choose the different one. Anyway I hope some people will be happy (at least my sister who use the theme for years).

Now some screenshots where I am after 8 hours:

nice stefan! goes with my 100 plus oz of coffee at 4 am every morning

the_waiter 02-18-2019 01:34 AM

Thanx Norman

Today I will create and add GTK+ themes for the coffee theme to the repo. Still lots of work in front of me. But yes, I think it looks much much better :)

Very nice.

JollyRoger1939 02-18-2019 12:25 PM

Many thanks, Stefan, much appreciated. I used the Crema theme in the old Bodhi v2 days, and I miss it. Your screenshots look very good, and I look forward to installing it on Bodhi 5.

Thanx Jolly

I like when my work serves users :)

PS: Notification widget added and colorized

GTK themes added and many many more. All made in Oomox editor

It looks great, Stefan! I'll definitely be using this theme.

By the way, I've always had the old Crema theme installed on my computer because I really like the clock. It's nicer than the clocks from the other themes, and it goes well with the Forum theme, which I normally use. I also often use the wallpaper from the Crema theme as well.

the_waiter 02-19-2019 12:25 PM

Yes, this theme deserves the attention and I am glad you like it :) This fact motivates me

Š

cordx 02-19-2019 01:42 PM

excellent work as usual :)

the_waiter 02-19-2019 02:01 PM

As I told in my first post, this theme lacks the ELM theme part. Just have realized the bodhi-theme-moksha-sunshine theme includes elm one and matches pretty cool with the Crema theme. Why not to combine them?

Enjoy :)

THat 's really nice.

JollyRoger1939 02-20-2019 03:43 AM

I notice in your screen shot, Stefan, that you've got shadows for your windows. There used to be a window shadow option in the Settings for Bodhi 2, but this is no longer available (at least, I can't find it). So are the window shadows built into the new Crema theme?

the_waiter 02-20-2019 03:49 AM

No no, I use compton compositor. It is nice and helps me with browser scrolling tearing. And yes, there is no compositor in Bodhi any more. Jeff removed it as it was buggy according his words.

S

JollyRoger1939 02-20-2019 10:37 AM

Thanks for the info, Stefan. So after reading your last post I installed Compton from the repository, looked up commands to use, typed in "compton --shadow" at the terminal, and the screen flickered and now I've got shadows! I think I'll now use your compton-conf file that you give in another thread (at https://pastebin.com/jmQPhLqz) and add Compton to my startup apps.
Regards, Roger

Edit: I've done the above, and everything's looking good. So I'm all set for your new Crema theme. I'll maybe now try a few things like transparency...

Thanks again!

the_waiter 02-20-2019 11:45 AM

I am glad you are enjoying it.

BTW, have you compiled and installed theme from source or waiting for deb package?

S

JollyRoger1939 02-20-2019 12:21 PM

I'm awaiting the deb, or else for it to appear in the repository. Thanks for asking.

R

the_waiter 02-20-2019 12:29 PM

There left some not themed widgets but I am slowly finishing the theming. I hope in the end of the week the deb could appear in the repo.

Stefan

JollyRoger1939 02-20-2019 12:33 PM

You're a star, Stefan!

the_waiter 02-24-2019 11:32 AM

OK

After a week of work the fixed Crema theme in the repository

sudo apt install bodhi-theme-moksha-crema

As I explained before, this package does not cover the ELM theme just E/Moksha part. The package does include the GTK theme. So for example pcmanfm should be themed. If not, check the theme in Application theme settings. Let me know in case any bugs.

I hope you will enjoy it

Štefan

Many thanks, Stefan - I've now got your Crema theme running on my computer! Well done!

I'm pleased to note that with this theme I can now do "Reset Moksha" without freezing the computer. Previously, with the Forum theme, "Reset Moksha" caused the computer to hang. It's some problem with the Forum theme. The computer will also hang if I try to change the profile back to Forum.

Thanks again
Roger

the_waiter 02-25-2019 04:33 AM

OK, thanx for feedback. I will look at Moksha Forum theme and fix if possible

Š

the_waiter 02-26-2019 02:25 PM

Hmm, trying to reproduce the Moksha freezing with Forum theme. No success so far. Everything works OK. I will try tomorrow on another PC in my office. I have the latest Moksha from source installed and so on. There were also many commits added by Ylee related to ELM theme part to the forum theme in the git hub. Maybe we should make a deb package and let you test it on your HW.

Štefan

JollyRoger1939 02-27-2019 01:46 AM

Hi Stefan - many thanks for your continuing efforts. Since you can't reproduce the fault on the Forum theme on your system, I've done some more tests on mine, and I've discovered that the problem is caused by the fact that I have not used the Theme Wallpaper on the first desktop (desktop 0-0) but used a picture instead. Provided I use the Theme Wallpaper on desktop 0-0 there are no problems. I can assign a different theme background, so that I get a different theme wallpaper, and there's still no problem. But when I assign a picture to desktop 0-0 my system crashes when I do a Reset Moksha.

This only seems to be a problem with the Forum theme, but I've not tested it on many other themes.

Still had no time to look at the forum theme. Lot of work at office

Anyway, maybe good news for the community:
I installed Bodhi to some of my colleagues and one of them asked for having the passion theme he used in the past with BL 3.2.1. I told him "of course you can use it, but you have to port it to BL5 and fix". As I am his boss, he could not say no :)

I created a git hub account for him and will let him work. We will see how far he will get.

Maybe some of you remember the passion theme. If not this is the ss:

Pretty nice theme worth porting although without ELM part

Stefan

cordx 02-28-2019 03:52 PM

that is nice.

Hatro 03-03-2019 02:07 PM

Beautiful theme, great work.
Crema looks good also on MATE.
And we can finally learn who Ferengi are...

the_waiter 03-03-2019 02:58 PM

I am not sure I understand
Fixed Crema theme in Mate desktop?
...Ferengi?

uff, the only sentence I understand is the first one. Thanx :)

Hatro 03-03-2019 03:08 PM

Excuse me my poor English.
Once again, simple:
1. Crema looks fantastic in Moksha.
2. Crema looks also very good in MATE. (I've just copied to .themes and it worked)
3. Ferengi... there's interesting comment in index.theme file. Actually, most funny index.theme I've ever seen.

the_waiter 03-03-2019 03:16 PM

lol

It is better now:) And your English is OK

1. thanx again
2. OK, you used the GTK/MATE/CINNE and more themes I made in oomox
3. hah, yes, it is there. Oomox generates it. I don't want to change any generated stuff. I am not aware of licence policy. So I left things as they are.

Nvvb 03-10-2019 01:56 PM

Thanks

Very beautiful theme, thankyou for making it available!

the_waiter 03-10-2019 03:38 PM

Enjoy :)

Ya i taught stefan everything he know -------- (about drinking pinot noir)....

the_waiter 03-17-2019 01:08 PM

Hello there again

I've just added the tacho display for CPUfreq gadget. It looks better but it is no the main reason I am writing here. Since BL 4 the tacho hand was blocked with powersave governour driver added in Ubuntu version the Bodhi is based on. It is called intel_pstate and the old cpufreq module did not respect it. It is possible to disable it in grub setup but I wanted to have an universal solution. I made some code changes in source after some studying but then I found the better solution in E22 thus I ported it to Moksha. Now it works as you got used to in BL 3x.

https://i.imgur.com/XnYW6le.jpg

Enjoy :)

PS: of course the solution is working for all themes we maintain. The moksha code is under heavy development these days mainly by Ylee and partly by me so take it as a teaser for BL 5.1 release :)
