not sure what you mean and maybe i misrepresented something. in chromium i guess you can hit cntrl c but control v in thunderbird or in LO the few times does not paste anything. when you use the right click mode it does not show any paste - it is grayed out. so copying is not the issue i see but the paste unless the app it is copied from is open. years ago it was an issue with bodhi and ubuntu and mint. then with bodhi 4.5 or 4 even that was fixed and i like it. you COULD save it with the said pp closed. and paste away.
Oh, OK. I did some more research and yes, you are right. Paste is not available in Thunderbird. But I tried briefly the textbox for email address and it works fine. But the issue is with message textbox. This component does not paste the copied text. Probably the same situation as with LibreOffice. Sorry, no idea so far how to solve it within Clipboard module code. All you can do is unload the module, copy and paste the text I also don't think it was solved in BL 4 or 4.5. Nobody could solve the code apart from Ylee or me...
Solves your issue with pasting text to some GTK apps like LO or Thunderbird. Of course you can load it back in case you want to use the Clipboard module features. As I said, I am sorry but this module has some bugs or unfinished features. We focused too much in our coding to new BL 5 release and this was left as it was
i tried unloading it and trying all copy and pastes and nothing. so i loaded it up again. to keep as it was. and yes i KNOW it worked great in bodhi 4.5 because i knew it never did and i even told my wife that she did not have to keep the other window open to paste as before which she hated. and it took me a while to get used to doing it. on macs i never had to worry. whatever was copied last was good until you copied something new or shutdown the computer.
This is really weird what you are saying. If you unload the module, it should work OK, but yes, you can't close the source window. This was the feature I never liked and tried to solve. Maybe I will ask Ylee for the solution with cnp command under new EFL in case he will find some free time (Wltrj user ported the module to E22 and used this command).
Hmm, moment. Maybe I can help you. I can remember the primary selection should work fine. Please, go to clipboard setting and check the Use Primary (selection) and apply. Then select the text you need to copy and paste it with the middle mouse button.
i use a trackpad. i did check primamry and nothing. I did have 3 clipboard settings listed too now that i reloaded a couple of times and no way that i see to delete the 2 ofthe extras. bugs....argh! this could be related. i was thinkng that it could maybe be ubuntu elated too. maybe not.
In case you are using the trackpad, the middle mouse button click is possible to done with tap to right upper corner. This at least works on the touchpad...

now you sre opening up another situation. my trackpad does not click on tap and i love it. i hated it when you could not shut it off. so now i am happy but as stated in another thread it takes 2 fingers to scroll instead of the before 1 finger but i can live with that. so i do not want to go there with that tap to click stuff.
i realize you are in slumberland but when you check this. i just checked out parcellite. on web and it is in synaptic. so have you used this? will this work to solve the issue? or it may work? also will it cause more troubles than it is worth?
