Cannot Even Install!
 

God... it never ends, no matter which version of Linux I hope is going to be usable there's always some problem! So the latest version of Bodhi cannot be installed by YUM, at 90% completion tells me a file cannot be found and just pauses there, so I have to click cancel. It then tells me a configuration file could not be found and deletes everything it installed. THEE END. Lame. Does no one check such things before putting it up for grabs?

Actually providing some information would be helpful. I have been installing Linux for over 20 years and have very few install issues...how are you installing, what are you installing to, etc. Need more info.

Lots of QC/QA processes in the open source world - don't knock it, some are better than the commercial world.

Cannot be installed by YUM? Yum is a deprecated tool used in old, EOL versions of Fedora, and the prior (although still supported) versions of Red Hat before 8 (although yum still works in 8, it is officially deprecated). How are you attempting to install an UBUNTU-based OS via a RED HAT command?

OP appears to be trolling - windows user trying various Linux distros on a USB and posting insulting comments when they don't work.

I assume the OP is actually referencing YUMI i.e the multiboot USB creator.

YUMI may not work for all distributions and make sure you are using the latest version i.e. 2.0.6.9. There are hundreds of linux distributions with many versions of each. There is no implied guarantee that any utility you find is 100% compatible with every distribution.

You might want to give multibootusb a try.

Bodhi is well tested and used by thousands. I think the more appropriate questions is did you read the documentation.

Are you referring to Yumi a windows multiboot usb creator? That is not mentioned in our documentation and really the prefered way of creating a bootable usb drive for the Bodhi ISOs is the linux dd command. Your issue appears be ignoring our documentation and a possible. probable issue with the tool you are using to make the ISO or user error. I am not a windows user so I am not gonna comment on what tools to use in windows to make a bootable ISO, so perhaps you should ask? We have windows users who dual boot and they installed someway. Trashing our distro hardly is a way to get help.

Poster is either a troll, or totally incompetent, no one has the amount of 'bad luck' s/he is having with Linux. :rolleyes:

On the slightest chance that he/she is not a troll - try burning to dvd and installing - you may be having usb problems. I have never had a problem installing Bodhi. Although I have had problems burning some linux distros to usb and install failing.

OP is posting multiple threads with distros that appear to be able to be installed on a thumbdrive. They are failing to install, verbally slamming each distro, insulting members and calling Linux "lame".

So ignore until the OP gets his/her head together, or ban.
