I've been trying out different themes, including the Seven theme which looks really cool to me. However, once I set up the seven theme, I can't actually save a profile in the Settings Panel.
I set up the theme, go to Settings > Profiles > Add ... and the pop up dialog box's text area is black, and won't accept any input!
In fact, none of the dialog boxes in the Settings Panel appear to accept any input when the Seven theme is selected.
It's not just saving profiles which is a problem, but anything in the Settings Panel which requires text input. For example, associating a key combination with an Application requires entry of the application name (eg. name:Terminology) in a text box. This text box isn't just completely filled with a black background, it also doesn't accept any input even if you try to type something in.
Is it my system? or is there a problem with the Seven theme?
No no. There is no problem to help. I keep an eye on Moksha themes for some time as one guy stopped providing this support. I also wanted to know how themes script work.
I the meantime I recompiled the theme with no good news. I will need to have a closer look. I will inform you.
I think it should be removed as a download option if it's not ready.
Offering any unfinished software will just damage the reputation of Bodhi, and that would be a pity. Fortunately, there's no commercial pressure to get something released before it's ready, so I think it's better to withdraw this theme until you or someone else can find the time to sort it out.
Thanks for everything you've done. Much appreciated.
You are right.
Look, we are too small crew to cover all distro needs. I doubt any of us knew the condition of the theme until you mentioned. Simply we do not use that theme. We do our best to offer support and forum is a great place to have us know. There were tons of requests related to themes in the past which were covered by me or other devs. Now I know what is wrong, I will fix it, make deb package in the near future and you will enjoy fixed nice theme

PS: any help is appreciated. I mean this seriously. There were many ambitious guys with big "muscles" and eyes (even mentioned in Bodhi Linux team members) but in the end they did nothing for the distro. It is our/your distro and it will be in shape how great the community is...
Well, I can't ask for more than that! I look forward to using the updated theme when it's ready.
I hope I haven't implied any criticism here. I completely understand that you guys are doing all this work for free and in your own spare time. It's an astonishing act of kindness that this distro (along with all other Linux distros) is given away for no charge. You already spent several hours helping me, and I really appreciate it.
Is there a document which describes how themes are produced?

agreed. i really appreciate all of the hard work as well
Yes, there were several bugs related to widgets and everything module (bad text positions, ellipsis, bad systray apps allign etc). Now I am working on adding better GTK theme. The default one does not suit well with Geany editor for example. There are not textbox outlines, no scroll bars, stupidly white text on the bright background. If I understand properly the seven theme should be related to Win7 theme design. I haven't found better Win7 GTK theme around, but Windows Vista I found is really cool and fits much better to Moksha theme. Another unsolved part is ELM theme which you can test with elm apps like ePad or eeEpdate. I intend to make a link to MokshaRadiance elm theme which is also fine. After preparing all stuff together I will pack to deb and send to repository. Then you can upgrade your current theme to fixed one. Let me have some time please, nevertheless, 2 naughty kids and 1 demanding wife under roof
