[SOLVED]Keyboard layout does not function

Version 5.1.0
My keyboard is set as follows...

> cat /etc/default/keyboard

# KEYBOARD CONFIGURATION FILE

# Consult the keyboard(5) manual page.

XKBMODEL="pc105"
XKBLAYOUT="mx"
XKBVARIANT=""
XKBOPTIONS=""

BACKSPACE="guess"

Running sudo dpkg-reconfigure keyboard-configuration produces...

XKBMODEL="pc105"
XKBLAYOUT="latam"
XKBVARIANT=""
XKBOPTIONS=""

BACKSPACE="guess"

But neither produce the marked letters. Any suggestions will be appreciated.

can you describe more about what you are expecting the output to be compared to what you are getting?

here is a thread from a few months back that had a somewhat similar issue with switching keyboards: https://www.linuxquestions.org/quest...-a-4175670908/

Enabling the keyboard module made all the difference. Many thanks for the speedy response and simple advice.

glad to hear that did the trick. in case it helps or might be of interest, most of the bodhi traffic has moved over to their new forum: https://bodhilinux.boards.net/
