How to get Amarok working in Slackware 14.2

Posted 12-18-2017 at 04:05 AM by Ztcoracat

Hi:

After a fresh installation of Slackware I wanted to hear my music and Amarok just didn't want to play nice.

After a few searches I found that you need some plugins in order for Amarok to play mp3 and mp4 files.

You will need to install gst-plugins bad, gst-plugins-ugly and gst-libav.
They are easily found in the SlackBuilds repo.

https://slackbuilds.org/result/?sear...lugins&sv=14.2

https://slackbuilds.org/result/?search=libav&sv=14.2

Once they are installed Amarok should play nicely for you.

If you need help running the SlackBuild scripts you can pm me.
I'd be happy to help you.

Cheers,
