Not a good day...

Posted 06-22-2020 at 12:33 AM by zaivala

I tried to install Sabayon on my Kudu 3. I couldn't even get it to finish loading the live system. I downloaded a new copy in case that was the issue, but it didn't fix a thing. So I installed OpenMandriva Lx 4.1 on the Kudu, freeing up my OM4 partition on my desktop, and went to install Sabayon onto the desktop. It looked like I had succeeded, which is a lot farther than I got on the Kudu, but updating did not work right. I did a lot of updates using Rigo when the terminal stuff didn't work, but not all of them seemed to be right. I don't know what to do next but it's not a major need, just something I wanted to do and thought I could get a win. I guess it's a draw, and I don't like not winning when it comes to distro installation. I guess the fact that I successfully installed Peppermint (didn't mention that earlier) and successfully replaced that with OpenMandriva can be called a win.

I'm still waiting for all the new distros to come out -- Mint, OpenSUSE, Slackware, etc. Right now I don't have anything to work on for the next episode of Distrohoppers' Digest.
