Once, not so long ago, I actually had a website---but it ran into some trouble: suspensions. It seems I had some stuff that the hosts (which were free, so I can't complain to much---and I'm not so much complaining as providing back story) didn't like (as far as I've been able to determine, they didn't like my how-to for archiving VHS cassettes to DVD), and thus my site kept getting suspended.

It was irritating, but it did get me thinking, for the site also had a several pages of Linux related how-to's, and while I have no illusions about the impact they might have had, there were used occasionally. Coupled with the fact that the site content would have been easier to use if it had been in a blog format (praise be to the tag), I concluded that these suspensions were not a disaster, but an opportunity! A signal that it was time to put the multitude of technical content I had accumulated over the years somewhere it would be relatively secure (and stable). And so I'm here.

(Well, that's not the whole reason I'm here---I'd like to think that at some point I'll manage to contribute something to LinuxQuestions, but I'll have to leave that to more un-biased individuals.)

And so, over the course of the next few weeks, I'll gradually post that technical content (and whatever technology related items catch my interest) I deem worthy of survival to this corner of the internet, where---with any luck---it will answer someone's question, someday. And when that's done with, I'll find new subjects to write instructions for, because I never seem to run out of them.

And with that, the post in done.
