New ##slackware-help community support channel on Freenode

Posted 08-23-2017 at 05:58 PM by ttk

A new channel for providing Slackware community support has been created on Freenode.

It is similar to the previous existing ##slackware channel, in both charter and composition (a lot of the users in ##slackware-help are also in ##slackware).

The differences are mostly of tone and technology -- the new channel has a factoid-bot for easily pointing newbies to existing resources. For instance:

Code:
<ttks> !tutorial
<tiddy> ttks: https://docs.slackware.com/slackware:beginners_guide | http://www.slackware.com/config/
Also, a database of technical questions and answers is being compiled for easy reference, factoids will soon be added for sections in the Slackbook, and a plugin is being developed for better integration into LinuxQuestions.

Stay tuned!
