TheOuterLinux Mμse - Radio

Cross-posted from: https://theouterlinux.gitlab.io/Publ...cles/Radio.txt

The point of this "Mμse" is simply to act as a quick reference for
howto's and so forth in regards to sending/receiving all sorts of things over radio. This is far from a complete and will probably be updated slowly over time.

Code:

.-[ QUICK WARNING ]------------------------------------------------.
In most countries, you need a license to use HAM radio.
HOWEVER, in most countries, you do not need a license to receive
any radio signals as that would honestly be unreasonable and
unrealistic due to the nature of radio.
Just something to think about before continueing on...

I would also like to note that the GNU/Linux distribution "PsychOS"
created by TheOuterLinux (https://psychoslinux.gitlab.io) includes
fldigi and a few other radio tools (see command 'apropos radio').

Radio is a technology in which radio waves are transmitted or received
between 300 hertz and 300 gigahertz. These waves are then translated
into sound or data that can be understood by humans. However, radio
waves also occur naturally. Matter of fact, Nikola Tesla in 1899, while
experimenting with his 200-foot radio tower, which many though to
be some sort of "death ray," heard rythmic sounds he believed to be from
electricians living on Mars. This was not really the case, though
organizations like SETI (Search Extrateresstrial Intelligence) still try.

SETI website: https://seti.org/.

"Of all the evidences of narrow mindedness and folly, I know of no
greater one than the stupid belief that this little planet is singled
out to be the seat of life, and that all other heavenly bodies are
fiery masses or lumps of ice."
                                  -- Nikola Tesla

If it is wireless, it is radio. This includes the radio in your car, your
cell phone, cell towers, Bluetooth, WiFi, satellites, RFID chips, GPS,
remote control cars, "walkie-talkies," and all sort of things both man
made and natural (radiation: "radio" waves; get it?).

Most of the software list is either free and open-source licensed or
just simply free.

For DOS users, visit https://www.dxzone.com/catalog/Software/Legacy_Systems/MS_DOS/
for a list of HAM radio software. However, good luck find any of them.

websites as possible but a few of them may still need JavaScript or
