Just annotations of little "how to's", so I know I can find how to do something I've already done when I need to do it again, in case I don't remember anymore, which is not unlikely. Hopefully they can be useful to others, but I can't guarantee that it will work, or that it won't even make things worse.

GPU benchmarking... that was scary

Posted 08-06-2017 at 08:40 AM by the dsc

The computer I was using before apparently is dying... somewhat bulging capacitors, with the screen getting totally corrupt along with the sound, and "REISUB" doesn't work...

I've just moved the HDD/OS to a different motherboard, somewhat similar computer... and I was checking the actual hardware specs on "hardinfo"....

I clicked more or less accidentally on "GPU drawing", not noticing it was under the benchmark section (and not expecting it would start automatically, as it's not the case with gtkperf)... to suddenly face, in terror, a screen much like I the ones that I was having before...

In an instant I was relieved by noticing it was perfectly windowed... still, I closed it in despair.
