Using a Live Linux DVD (USB drive) to retrieve personal data

One way to retrieve personal data from a problematic hard drive or computer is to boot from a Live Linux DVD or USB drive.
I used Linux Mint 19.2 MATE 64-bit on a SanDisk USB drive.

Create bootable media:

Boot Linux Mint:
https://linuxmint-installation-guide...test/boot.html

Immediately after booting the computer it is necessary to repeatedly...
