get rid of GNOME 3 recent items ......

when u press windows key and search for anything.......some recently used items too pop up and they may sometime really risk the privacy.....
all you have to do is just delete this file--->
Code:
.local/share/recently-used.xbel
and then restarting computer(or ALT+F2+r+ENTER) removes recent items but they are again visiible......to help you again
could have been much simpler...

This post like all of my posts are several years out of date.
Use the Tor Browser, or a VPN preferably a paid one.
You can also use a browser like Librewolf that is a bit more hardened than Firefox or Chrome.

If you are really worried about privacy there are a few things you can do including:
Use the Adblock Plus extension for Firefox and use the
Easy Privacy list as well as the Antisocial list.
This list blocks the ever increasing social networking content...

Careful with tor and Konqueror

After playing with tor + privoxy + tork with Konqueror, y finally decided to remove all three privacy programs and go back to regular use of Konqueror.

Prior to uninstall tork, I reconfigured Konqueror for use without tor.

However, after removing the programs I found that accessing some SSL sites was not possible. Finding information about that was not easy this time.

The browsing settings on Kcontrol had cookies, cache and java disabled. The privacy...
