Preserving your existing Home partition when installing a new distro (UEFI boot & GPT format)

My earlier blog for preserving your existing Home partition featured a Legacy/CSM boot on a drive formatted as msdos:

Since most people are now using UEFI boot on a gpt formatted drive, I have now updated the details.

IMPORTANT


Regardless of the following suggestion on how to preserve your current Home (/home)...
