Permission for users and group on SLES 10

Posted 05-14-2009 at 07:06 PM by subakaran

I installed LDAP integrated Samba server (file server) using SLES10 for Windows clients. I created a group and added two users. Even though I assigned the permission for group - rwx on the dir, it doesn't allow to modify one user's file by another user.

If I want to make one directory to handle by more than one users, how can I create and assign the users for the dir?

I did, created a group - Finance and added users USER1 and USER2. Then I assigned to the group with rwx permission. Who would be the owner for the dir if both users want to modify the files within the dir?
