Much ado about Nix...

I want to introduce some of you to a system you may not be aware of. The system is called Nix. It has it's own package manager, which in some ways may behave/perform like Gentoo's emerge. The major difference between Nix and virtually every other Linux distribution, is that Nix has none of the directories common to Linux. Every package is essentially it's own filesystem.

I'm inviting Nix users to come and discuss this in detail, so others can get a more authoritative view of how things work.
