confirm that the file is being transferred using binary transfer and see if that helps. There should be a setting or option on your ftp client to use binary transfers for all files.

Thanks Rayford for your reply,

The file type I was transferring are .tar.gz. I used the binary mode to transfer the files.

Thanks

slackware64 multilib QT issues

Posted 09-17-2009 at 06:13 PM by lumak (Lumak's Guide to Random Things)

UGH! ok I was trying to compile q4wine for god knows what reason and half the variables in the build/CMakeCache.txt were pointing to /usr/lib64/qt and the other half were pointint to /usr/lib/qt.

I solved my issue by adding
Code:
CMAKE_PREFIX_PATH=/usr/lib$LIBDIRSUFFIX/qt \
on the line right before
cmake \

Hope this helps somebody else with cmake and qt problems.

Slackware64 nvidia-driver-compat32

Posted 09-17-2009 at 03:45 PM by lumak (Lumak's Guide to Random Things)
Updated 06-10-2010 at 01:16 PM by lumak

EDIT: I added a new script for 195.36.24 as well as a script to compile libvdpau-compat32 on a 64 bit system. I never hear any feedback on this stuff... is it working for other people? Do I have errors anywhere?

ORIGINAL POST:
I'm one of those people that personally don't like installing things on my system without having proper packages made for tracking the files. As such I edited the scripts on SlackBuilds.org for an additional package to support this.

For some reason, the wheels off my Mack truck won't fit on my bicycle. I intend to complain.

Where can i find ia64 linux version of the jdk1.5.0_08?

Set up a packaging system on an old laptop

Posted 09-17-2009 at 10:10 AM by henryxcrudos (henryxcrudos' Linux Projects)

I plan to set up a packaging-only system for VectorLinux Light on an old laptop (Acer Travelmate 212TXV). VectorLinux Light is a great, fast, lightweight Slackware-based distribution.

Stage 1: Setting up the system

Installation of VectorLinux Light 6.0

- Burned CD-R from ISO
- Installed distribution using the text-installer
- Booted

Queries:
  1. X GUI Login screen not available, screen blanks after boot
