Posted 02-15-2010 at 10:05 AM by jaymarting (The messy world of technology)

Those of you testing out the development version of Ubuntu Lucid should notice a change in Firefox very soon. The default search provider for new installations of Ubuntu Lucid and upgrades will be Yahoo! and not Google. Canonical have struck a revenue sharing deal with Yahoo! which generates income for the company. This money should help pay the wages of Ubuntu Developers employed by Canonical.

It was last summer, when SourceForge wasn't so bad and I was always sitting and helping on their channel @ freenode, and, also, I was a windowz user.

Dedicate to abuse of useless and stupid 'www' prefix.
Planning to update this category when I'll have something worthing of rememberance.

I was just typing some random URLs and got to this domain in my browser: linux.org.
It's so hardcore it won't allow me to use URL without www, telling me I'm using wrong address, www should be used, '.' is an old site. It would be better if that at least redirected me to www. domain,...

where the hell is cheese? one more reason not to use linux

Posted 02-13-2010 at 01:45 PM by gajuambi

I am trying to install cheese in RHEL5.4 from 18 days now and no luxk.
If linux is really an operating system to save time and money for business then thats a big lie.
It is not just me all around the world(just google it)nobody seems to know how to compile cheese or even install it.
Tried all versions of rpm but it always ends up with dependencies which can never be resolved, it is just an endless loop.
Finally tried to download the tarball and tried to compile it..oh...
