Admin login problem

Posted 06-01-2009 at 08:17 PM by davpattei

i recently installed linux, the problem is i did it while i was drunk and i forgot my user name but i remember the password because anytime the computer asks for root password i can login but when i start up as root access is denied. And my other question is that can you run PHLAK as a stand alone OS as a newbie and what are the risks if any. Thank you.

NetBSD 5.0 on a Sony Vaio PCG-GRZ530

Posted 05-31-2009 at 07:25 PM by Mr-Bisquit

It works some. Still shutting down. Rebuilding with a lot of help from the community.
Yeah, it's for hacking and cracking. I picked the BSD's for this project and NetBSD in particular for the following reasons:

Windows has no security. I did a bit of c:\path\ and d:\path hacking, cross site scripting, embedded hacks, css hacks, java hacks. These work great which is scary.

Linux works but acpi has to be defined, apic, noapic, etc all have to be loaded. Newer distributions...
