The upgrade to Ubuntu Jaunty Jackalope went smoothly. It has not crashed since the upgrade. It looks great and is fast.

Very Bad Thing Make Compy Go Boom, Redux: Partition Edition

I've been posting some in re: my efforts to fill up the empty partition I was left with after the first "Compy Go Boom" incident ... because it hasn't gone well. In fact the way it HAS gone has led me to suspect there is something wrong with the partition in question ... though it certainly doesn't seem to mind having stuff installed to it.

When with the help of a very smart coworker I was attempting to analyze the situation via Puppy Linux, the partition was responding...

Linu, Windows and Myself

This is my first Blog at all and so, be patient.

I became a Linux User circa 2002 and from those days I going from Windows to Linux back and forward, I had used mainly Red Hat (from RH 5 to Core 7) but the difference this time is that I decided to make the leap to Linux for almost all my every day computing (professional and personally speaking).

Maybe you are wondering what disto I'm using right now and it is Ubuntu 8.10 (Intrepid Ibex) and, believe it or nt, is working...

Linux Magazine

While in the supermarket today I noticed "Linux format Magazine". The dvd that came with it had pclinuxos, and mepis on it. I nearly bought it, but I don't really like pclinuxos as I am not a fan of mandriva, which pclinuxos is derived. I have used mepis and it's good in my book! But I'm afraid 6.50 for a magazine is a bit steep in my opinion!

The other mag they had was "Linux Magazine" (original I suppose?). That came with just one operating system which was...
