I just read this article and it struck me that, in the last few paragraphs, there's an ever so subtle hint that there may be alternatives to suffering the constant barrage of malware and the resultant rounds of critical updates. It's not often you see that!

This past weekend I installed Slackware 13_x86 on my IBM A22m laptop. The laptop is a Pentium III 1 GHz with 512 MB of RAM.

I was running Slackware 12.1 on this computer, so before I started I backed up my /etc, /home, and /root directories onto my desktop computer and then reformatted the hard drive. This gave me a clean slate for the new installation.

carltm thanks for your re play, but please be more specific since im clueless in this topic.

- What kind of IP table rules allow to check for pre-approved access?
- How do I send the requests to my web server?

Im using Kubuntu 9.04 with firefox and i have a nvidia geforce 8400GS.Most videos i play on youtube fail.What flash plugin do i need!?!?!?!?I tried so many different ones.PLEASE help me find a answer to this issue.Firefox downloaded the proper plugins and flashplayer automaticly but i cant seem to find any progress.PLEASE HELP?!?!?!?

also why is it so hard to find answers on this site?
