Honored and humbled....

Posted 01-27-2011 at 02:53 AM by peonuser

Was reading the rss where where I saw there was an article about using the parallel port. I had just done one. Decided to click on it to get more info. Low and behold it was my own unfinished instructable. Surprise, Surprise, Surprise. in sort of a Gomer Pyle way.

Red Router

Posted 01-26-2011 at 09:46 PM by William (Dthdealer) (Whaling the FOSS)

I've just obtained a new router from my ISP after the older one started to have problems. The new one is bigger and uglier, but shares the same webUI.

On the previous router a portscan revealed port 23 for telnet was available, but the router just refused my connection when I tried to connect to it. The newer router only reports two open ports, and they are both for net traffic:

Interesting ports on 192.168.0.1:

Slackware-13.1-Hacks-WAV to MP3

Posted 01-26-2011 at 09:20 PM by arniekat

Open a Terminal in the directory with the *.wav files and run this command:

for i in *.wav; do lame "$i" "`basename "$i" .wav`".mp3; done

NOTE-This will create the MP3 files with the same name as the WAV files.

Bug #1 in My Family: The fact that I don't have a say in how rules are made

Posted 01-26-2011 at 08:21 PM by Kenny_Strawn (Kenny the one-teen comittee to stamp out Proprietary $uckware)

Rules in moderation are okay in my opinion. Especially those here on LQ, since they help to keep those who troll about proprietary operating systems off these forums. They're also good at school, since they help to keep violence out of the school and keep kids safe.

However, the one place rules are *not* okay (especially if I don't have a say in how they're made) is the very place in which I live. Sure, those that are critical to my safety (such as *not* running out in front of a...
