Finally getting into it ...

I've been using Linux for about seven years now, somehow without ever really knowing what I was doing. I use Linux because I like to tinker with my operating system. I can install and remove software from the command line, edit configuration files, change file permissions, create aliases, that sort of thing. And I understand the general theory behind networking, enough to troubleshoot basic connectivity problems on my own. But I never really got much further than that. I bought a couple books and...

Fun with the find command

Over the years, I've found some pretty useful find recipes to get the job done in a quick hurry. I thought I'd provide examples of what I needed done and how find helped me do that. I'm sure a quick google search will get you similar findings and more, but perhaps my particular examples will assist should you find yourself in a similar predicament.

What more with .Xdefaults

Well, using X11 i know you can optimize the color of the background, foreground, color of the cursor, pointer color, using your .Xdefualts

Is there anything else anybody is changing in their terminal that would be cool and useful?
For example, how do you change your font type?

Nagios Script to insert multiple host

Dear all, we have successfully installed Nagios Core version 3.3.1. Its working fine. i heard there is script to insert multiple host at same time rather inserting 1 by 1. Please forward to me if any 1 of you have.. will really appreciate it. Thank you.
