How to install Cairo Dock in Ubuntu 10.10 (Maverick)

Posted 02-09-2011 at 12:51 PM by allu john sudhakar

About Cairo Dock
It uses Cairo / OpenGL to render graphics (many in correlation with Compiz) with full hardware acceleration. It's fully configurable and fully customisable and can be used as a taskbar too. You can easily add applets in the dock or as a desklet. It is recommended to install the PLUG-INS package (cairo-dock-plug-ins) to have acces to more views, dialogs and many plug-ins and applets. Some screenshots are available : This package is the core of Cairo-Dock...

So glad to get my mythtv (home made DVR) server back up and in use. Still have some tweaks to do. Do not have any of the commercial video providers, but do have over the air tv. Lucky enough to have over 50 stations where I live. Lot of them are in Spanish or a host of oriental languages. Sometimes I will just turn off the sound and pretend to lip read what is said on movies I have seen enough times. Have more fun capturing snapshots for using in cartoons than saving any video.
Pardon the...

PPPoE: Roaring Penguin VS Kernel PPPoE, issues & solutions

OK, recently I posted this question; by now I guess I've got my answer.

So here are the steps I followed to test the KERNEL LEVEL PPPOE and the issues I had to resolve.

1. Setup.

When you read about it on Debian PPPoE Wiki page, it seems you need `pppoeconf` script or some other stuff to run it...
So wherever I'd go, there's never a simple and clear exhaustive explanation. So I figured, why not write one now?

OK, the kernel mode PPPoE setup...

I've changed my name! (leopard = deprecated)

Posted 02-07-2011 at 02:12 PM by lupusarcanus (Lone Wolf)
Updated 02-07-2011 at 10:37 PM by lupusarcanus (updated and fixed up a bit)

Thanks Jeremy!!!

I have changed my username from 'leopard' to 'lupusarcanus'. 'lupusarcanus' is Latin for 'Arcane Wolf', which I absolutely love. Just don't mistake it for the disease!

There were many reasons for changing it, one I didn't really like 'leopard' and two I have unified my internet persona, which was hard to do but nearly accomplished. I really like it all-in-all.

If it makes it easier you can just call me Andrew. I don't mind.
