This is my third post in the last half-hour. The best way to keep up is to get a feed reader and tell it to keep tabs on this blog's feed, .

Although I have not the most creative nor artistic mind, I was able to create a good theme for SLiM, my new login manager. The configuration files for themes are very easy to modify ( plain text ) and this is what I have come up with:

Dumping the Desktop Environment

A while ago I started using a proper desktop environment ( as opposed to independent window managers ). I did this with the false beliefs that it would make my life easier and that it would encourage more of my friends to try out free operating systems when they saw me using my computer.

Slowly I realised this was not true. Then I read this, and it sealed my fate:

Back to the world of the living

Posted 07-04-2011 at 12:28 AM by William (Dthdealer) (Whaling the FOSS)

I originally started blogging as an experiment, but soon lost the time to write regular entries. Eventually this blog decayed and died. Ever since I have been wanting to write but have never found myself at a computer at the right time.

From now on I am starting a regular blogging routine of more than two posts per week. Expect to start seeing some of my shell scripts, reviews of software and opinions on all things in the virtual world to start coming out of this blog again....

Enable right click and desktop folder in Gnome 3

Posted 07-02-2011 at 04:59 AM by dEnDrOn

In Fedora 15, nautilus does not handle the desktop by default, nor can you right click on the desktop to bring up the menu. To enable this, install
by using Add/Remove Software. Then, launch it and click on File Manager and then change “
Have File Manager handle the Desktop
” to “on”
