inspired by this post: http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...urrent-897960/
and reference http://docs.slackware.com/slackware:slackpkg
and http://docs.slackware.com/howtos:sla...:systemupgrade

Upgrade kernels first, do NOT use slackpkg upgrade kernel:
Code:
Use ftp ftp.slackware.com
User anonymous without password.
cd to pub/slackware/slackware64-current/slackware64/a/
mget kernel*

How does the US fix it's nonfunctional Congress?

Posted 10-02-2013 at 07:08 PM by flshope

While this issue is not typical LQ material, we LQ users do represent an international set of geeks and nerds, perhaps with some intelligence advantage, but certainly with some capability for independent thinking. How do we fix the US Congress?

- term limits?
- more restrictive educational requirements?
- math-based law restricting gerrymandering?
- random selection of members every decade or two?
- incorporate some characteristics of a parliamentary system?...

Run your Slackware 64 bit system with the latest kernel – 3.11.2!

Run your Slackware 64 bit system with the latest kernel – 3.11.2!

I have compiled a very useful (as I think) 64 bit kernel for Slackware 12.0 – 14.0 and/or all Slackware derivatives. For example Slax, Zenwalk, SlackEX and Exton|Defender.

Feature OVERVIEW for the Linux 3.11 kernel

new mc2 version

Posted 09-27-2013 at 04:32 PM by rainbowsally

mc2 (makefile creator 2) was created and developed right here at linux questions. It is a terminal app with some gui features and generates makefiles like automake does, but much more simply, using your own directory structure to organize builds -- even very large projects -- super-easy.

Also recommended are kdevelop3 to replace that DOG they now use in kde, and kdbg...
