But I wanted to be able to surf the web with a mouse in the library, in lounges, and not be trapped to my dorm. So I dug up a 1999 PowerBook G3 "Lombard" that we were given in 2005, and downloaded some Debian.

I did this back in 2012 with Debian 6.0 and XFCE, but with no motive beyond pure curiosity.....

In the end, the real fix was a firmware update. Being a guy from the days of rabbit ears and tube TV's, I'm a bit irked that they call this "improvement" "smart" (very much...

En route to testing KDE 5 : Part 1 , the minimal slack install

Posted 05-21-2015 at 02:17 AM by jheengut

Last time I visited changelog64 , a major up haul to slackware current was done, new xfce, kde releases and a new 3.18 kernel. This indicates a possible 14.2 Slackware will be released in due time when stability is deemed.

Until then, I embarked on a little experimentation about making a minimal -current install.

Since I did not want to reboot, I tried chroot. It did not work, so have to do more steps.

This is how i format my hard disk:

AndEX (Android-x86 Lollipop 5.0.2) with GAPPS and kernel 4.0.0-exton-android-x86

Posted 05-20-2015 at 09:34 AM by exton (Exton's Blog)

NEWS 150520 about AndEX – The Absolute Ultimate Edition
My new build of Android-x86 Lollipop 5.0.2 has GAPPS pre-installed. I.e. Google Play Services, Google Play Store, Google+, Maps, YouTube and more apps. The ISO is called android-x86-5.0.2-lollipop-GAPPS-kernel4-exton-687mb-150520.iso. I call it The Absolute Ultimate Edition because AndEX build 150520 is totally error-free. Google Maps is the only app you’ll have to update. (Just start Google Play Store and do it!). All other included...
