Non-clairvoyent Dapper

Posted 04-10-2006 at 11:41 PM by Freemor

Seems Dapper, or at least the current incantation on gpilotd can't read usb palms (got a new one for my wife for her B-Day). Luckily, palm users abound, and many people have been squacking about the situation. There is currently a work around to the problem posted by qball on ubuntu fourms which is to issue the following on the command line:

sudo mount -t usbfs none /proc/bus/usb/

Seems the problem is that gpilotd is looking for info in /proc/bus/usb/devices...

sound with Enemy-Territory

Posted 04-09-2006 at 06:20 PM by qizzer

I use alsa sound which doesn't seem to play well with ET game. The fix for this seems to be: as root: echo "et.x86 0 0 direct" > /proc/asound/card0/pcm0p/oss
This fix goes away everytime I upgrade my kernel so I make sure to have it in my notes.
