Florida vs Illinois winter

Hi,

I made it back to Florida. Missed the first snow back in Illinois by one day. First week here was in the 90's and now it has settled back a bit to the mid 70's and high 80. Love the warmth!

First thing back, I had to replace my five year old Golf cart batteries set (4 x 12VDC). Trojan T-1275 at $153/ea plus 96 pounds each. I would have the install done but earliest time to get on schedule was Nov 19, 2019. I need my cart for more than just Golf. We use it to transport...

My previous Debian Pixel Build from is from 190705 . Study all included packages in Build 191102- latest by 191102. I’ve added NetworkManager and also Wicd, which makes it easier to configure wireless connections. Choose the one which works for you.

Using a Live Linux DVD (USB drive) to retrieve personal data

One way to retrieve personal data from a problematic hard drive or computer is to boot from a Live Linux DVD or USB drive.
I used Linux Mint 19.2 MATE 64-bit on a SanDisk USB drive.

Purism finally starts shipping the Libre5 GNU/Linux phone

I haven't been paying attention, but I just noticed Purism who is behind the Librem phone has moved away from pre-orders to actual shipments. This is great news. It is actually happening. But they are sold out! (which is also in a way good news).

The Librem 5 is a "smartphone" that comes with PureOS, an actual GNU/Linux distro, not busybox/Linux or some other fake Linux variant, but real GNU. This is an actual GNU/Linux phone, maybe the first one (not sure about Mer/Linux...
