We forget that Linux can be frustrating sometimes

Posted 12-09-2005 at 09:32 AM by vharishankar

I have always criticized people who complain about Linux on forums and while I do think that some of them do troll for the sake of trolling, I think I can relate to some of the sufferings of other Linux users which I think we tend to forget once we smooth over all the configuration of the system and get it to work the way we want it.

I recently changed my ISP from a cable provider to a DSL one. Getting it to work has taken me a long time, not because Linux could not get it to work,...

Comming soon to the HCL...

Posted 12-07-2005 at 01:36 PM by JesusFreak84

...will be an entry on compatability between Slackware 10.2 and an HP Pavilion zd8000-series laptop. The post will represent compatability with a default full install, before any tweaking. I guess I see the HCL as an indicator of the inherent {sp?} ability of the laptop and the OS to cooperate. If entries are editable, I might add as an Endnote what, if anything, I had to do to get whatever to work. Also improtant for anything networking-related, though, is that I'm on a dorm network, and this...

Randomness - Logarithms

Posted 12-06-2005 at 09:36 PM by microsoft/linux

I took a quiz on logarithms today in Pre-Calc./Trig.(See Mathworld for more information, in case anyone's rusty :))

Any way...I finished before everyone else in the class. Now normally this would be a good thing. I'm a pretty good test taker, and normally math doesn't bother me. This year however has been different, it's been rough, but I've been maintaining a C.

Basically, my finishing early could mean one of two things:
1)I really knew the material...

Customers, Clients or just Stoooopids!

Posted 12-06-2005 at 07:09 AM by vangelis

I think in a blog you don't ask for help, that's the main reason this site dedicated more than 70% in forums.
Anyways...

Working in customer support is the same as living in a psychiatric clinic.
When I think of people that called and asked all the stoopid things in the world I just imagine
myself trying to kill 'em with different ways.
But ok, I know not everyone can handle easy a pc. But there are ppl out there(just like aliens)
that they do...
