nearly ready to make the leap to linux, i want to to go 1) linux, 2) 64 bit and 3) dual core..., sound slike 3 steps, everywhere i look the coverdisks seem to be 32 bit only :( , feels like 3 big steps, maybe i will wait just a tad more till the next amd x 2 price drop then go for it, have 2 windows systems, am happy enuf with them , dont want to pay more for yet another version of windows and associated support programs, office , norton firewall antivirus etc.. i run some distributed computing...

Hmmm, a blog.
Ten years on the net and this will be a first.
If anyone else actually reads this, good luck, I hope you gain from your time.

As a first entry; I am right this minute doing an online update to a brand new WinXP install.
This has gone all too well i.e. XP install @ 40mins then SP2 install @ 1hr20mins. Then antivirus and firewall and now the online update. I started at 3pm, it's now 5:51pm.

#Good lord, no repositories have public key's. Here's the fix

/usr/bin/apt-key add /path/to/file/ziyi_key_2006.asc

I have the best links / files to allow DSL to be booted from USB keys.
The key will also be rewritable to save data.
