PHP, aka Pretty Hosed Programming

Posted 01-11-2006 at 09:02 PM by unSpawn

If you've read the SANS Top 20 of 2005 ( there is a clear message with respect to deploying PHP-driven applications: be paranoid or be cracked. A short tour of a few vulnerability reporting sites show that with programmers who can't be arsed to follow the most basic principles of programming, who force users to run their app with all essential security features off and with undereducated users running apps without questioning this will be another wonderful year for your...

Posted 01-11-2006 at 04:40 AM by geirh

I need some help to configure wireless LAN (built in USB) on a omnibook 550. So far without success. So I wondered if there is somebody outhere that could give me some information.

So far I assume that following steps is necessary:

1) The correct driver. (PRISM 802.11b Wireless LAN USB driver - HP Omnibook 550?)? C-code(source code) or exe code?

Vista Iced 'til 2010, Microsoft says.

Posted 01-10-2006 at 10:52 AM by unSpawn

"In an effort to regain dwindling consumer trust Microsoft has decided to reschedule the release of Micosoft's Vista.
All resources are being redirected to building a more secure O.S. before introducing new bugs."

Randomness - iPod 30GB(5g) and linux

Posted 01-09-2006 at 12:15 AM by microsoft/linux

Ok, so I got a 30 GB iPod for christmas, and I have some decent sucess with linux. Below is how I've gotten it working with debian etch.

This guy apparently is a debian developer, and has made a patch for gtkpod to allow transfer of video. This is extremely useful. I use handbrake for video conversion.

First, I made a new directory to mount it on
# mkdir /mnt/ipod
I then added this to my fstab
/dev/sda2 /mnt/ipod
