I have made a new version of ExTiXThe Ultimate Linux System. I call it ExTiX 17.8 LXQt Live DVD. (The previous version was 17.4 from 170418).

Hello again, fellow Linux noobs.
Last I was here, there was a wubi (windows installer exe-file) for an old version or two of Linux... easy enough for Gramma....
but the thoroughly-modern much-more-sensible approach seemed to be to download several pieces of software that allow one to burn an ISO file to disc or USB, transfer that ISO file to the harddrive, and transform it into an onboard operating system....

My new build of Android x86_64 – android_x86_64-7.1.2-nougat-gapps-kernel-4.13.3-exton-170930 can be installed to hard drive or on a USB stick. You cannot run the system live. I.e. from a DVD or a USB stick or live in VirtualBox or VMware. On some computers you’ll have to start up AndEX 7.1.2 in compatibility mode (VESA) after a hard drive installation. GAPPS and all other apps mentioned below are installed. NOTE1: You can run AndEX Nougat Build 170930...

27" iMac.
So, I will be even less inclined to participate here at LQ.

Couple of annoyances on this new host, but NBD for a Professional.

Why? You may axe.
One reason, Siri is fully integrated into the desktop. I can speak and it responds.
23 years in IT and I am tired of typing.
