Linux fanboys are at it again. This time over security.

Posted 11-06-2015 at 07:59 PM by Randicus Draco Albus

This thread has inspired another blog post.

A newspaper article that examines the Linux kernel from a security perspective with a cursory, but unbiased examination of the issue from both sides, Torvalds and those who advocate better security, is vilified by some Linux users as an attack on Linux and anti-Linux propaganda. Here is yet another...

The Linux Crusade

Posted 10-15-2015 at 10:00 PM by Randicus Draco Albus

It is encouraging that the Linux religion is thriving. The contingent of missionaries embarking on the crusade to convert the computer heathens to the one true operating system continues to grow at a healthy rate.
(In case there is any doubt, yes, that is sarcasm.)

From what I see on various fora, it seems that the mentality of the Cult of Ubuntu is spreading vigorously throughout the rest of Linuxdom. Missionary zeal used to be restricted to the fantasy of a world dominated by...

Hopefully, BSD will not follow Linux down the road of Windows emulation. I know most LQ members will disagree with my assessment, but that is the world through my eyes.

Topics I am sick of.

Posted 08-16-2014 at 10:08 PM by Randicus Draco Albus

Excuse me, but time to rant.
Two things I am SICK of seeing on fora everywhere are:
Questions and pleas for help about Wine.
Pleas for help to dual-boot a Linux system with Windows.

Although I almost always ignore any thread concerning those two topics, the shear number of them, everywhere on the internet, has driven me to the point of being sickened by the sight of those titles. Either install and use something else or continue using Windows. Too simple for many people...
