I just want to Thank all of you for putting up w/ me

Posted 05-31-2014 at 05:55 PM by Peter T

I have U14.04 alone on my HP. I did a fresh install and chose to let Linux set a 'logical' partitioning scheme
on it's own during the installation phase. I hope that will be okay for now, because I really am afraid to go in there and tinker.

Someone here was kind enough to mention 'transmission' as the app for torrents in the Linux realm.
I would like to hear more, or have a link posted for me to read.

again ,, thanks

U = Ubuntu? Ubuntu has that stupid Software Centre. Although it is generally useless, Software Centre can be useful for researching what applications are available. Available applications are arranged by category and have short descriptions. That information can be used as a starting point to do more research.

    Happy trails.

    Howdy to you too!!!, Rok

I have been busy reading all I can find on the net
about Linux. Sooo much to read my eyes are turning
into red bumps in my head.

Biker AAA ? I have a moped for getting around town,
a 1975 canary yellow T-Top Vette for Saturday nights, a Dakota
for hauling stuff and my Mom's bitchin Buick for the rest.

I very much like Trusty Tahr. Bill Gates can go suck an egg
along with the nsa boyz and the rest of those black-hat floozies.

Some years back I had a Triumph, but I don't remember the year,
it was in the 70's tho, methinks a 750cc. Had alot of trouble with
it at first tho because of the backassward electrical system.
Crazy Englishmen and all. Shocked the chit outta me on rainy days.
I remember that the main diode and heat-sink unit was 25bucks at that time. A lot of money back then.

Thanks for talking w/me... just a long distance voyager

    I'm in Wisconsin,,, you ??

    Mexican Border in Texas.

I've wrenched on whitworth/lucas scooters. Built 70's Moto Guzzis from piles auctioned off at DPS auctions in Southern California.

Own 6 running scooters myself and am pretty much a happy camper in life.

Good starting with Trusty for ya. Take it slow and easy.
The only thing I can't do in linux is

so I keep a Windows partition available for just that.

Have fun in life and cut RAD some slack on the way. He is a good ol
boy from China and opinionated like everyone else in life but a good stand up linux user none the less.

I like him. I try and like everyone. But am a tattooed, rude, crude,
linux using outlaw biker non the less so I aint perfect either.

Shoot. Double post on this site with Chromium browser.
I shoulda used UZBL browser instead.

There, changed over to a simpler browser so edit will work ok.

Think of learning linux like a new adventure. Like anything you learn.
Languege, fighting styles, dance moves, etc........

It enriches your life and lifts you one step above the masses and no one
can take that away from you. Once you learn it. You alone own it.

It has been my approach to life for years. My folks were very good teachers
on how to approach and live life. Not afeared. But, straight and forth right.
But ya gotta work at it and it aint easy peasy sometimes.
