So glad to get my mythtv (home made DVR) server back up and in use. Still have some tweaks to do. Do not have any of the commercial video providers, but do have over the air tv. Lucky enough to have over 50 stations where I live. Lot of them are in Spanish or a host of oriental languages. Sometimes I will just turn off the sound and pretend to lip read what is said on movies I have seen enough times. Have more fun capturing snapshots for using in cartoons than saving any video.
Pardon the bad pictures.

Fallen in love with XMBC. Since it is multi-platform, probably use that as a portable front end with MythTv.

A friend gave me a pay as you go cell phone. I never used it. The battery is probably extinct by now. I now have a use for it. May try to revive it.

In saying that, I plan to install trixbox on another old system. I toyed with digital phone service several years back and even bought some digital to analog converters dirt cheap. Since they were service specific, I downloaded and installed firmware to free them up. Even bought one of the Fx cards to connect to the existing analog lines. One of the things I think that kind of pushed me away was learning all the new terminology and all the specific settings that need to be done. At the time, I already had enough on the plate. Well it is time to experiment with that again.

Went to Goodwill to look for a decent cheap bicycle to make a stationary bike set up to use with computer monitoring/data recording. No such luck. There will be more eventually.
